Five bespoke gold rings…. a retrospective of the year as 2022 comes to a close

As we entered 2022, Blair and Sheridan’s diary was brimming with appointments!  Countless brides and grooms sought our custom wedding rings for their upcoming betrothals.  This really has been the year of weddings!  Designs ranged from bespoke gold rings, diamond rings, coloured stone jewellery and everything in between.  The months that followed continued to see countless engagement rings being designed and made by our talented team –  love has truly been in the air…

Do we have to get matching wedding rings?

While the nature of our work doesn’t follow ‘trends’, our customers consistently search for something a bit different.  On that note, there is no need to have matching rings!  Our online galleries show a range of designs featuring unique,  personal touches.  Details such as engraved dates,  drawings,  initials and symbols,  mountain ranges,  Scottish vistas are just some of the elements requested.  Furthermore, one of our specialities – fitted bands to accompany unusually shaped engagement rings.

Our approach to your bespoke design – whether a wedding/engagement ring,  pendant, earrings or any other item of jewellery – is one of an entirely individual and personal nature.  We take on board your ideas and personal touches while guiding you every step of the way.

Can you design jewellery remotely?

One of our stand-out pieces of this year has been a ring design for someone with a visual impairment.  This customer was seeking a bespoke signet ring to represent his Scottish clan links.  Due to location we worked via Zoom/telephone with our customer who wanted a really tactile finish to the ring.  Our design team set to work and this unique piece,  below,  met the brief surpassing our customer’s expectations.

We love hearing our customers ideas and thoughts on their bespoke jewellery design as we guide them through the journey.  While personal touches and romantic tales are prevalent, of course, sometimes there are very different hurdles to overcome.  Our approach is always practicable, anything is possible!  One of our last designs of the year was to re-model a customer’s existing engagement, eternity and wedding bands into something that would be wearable despite her arthritic knuckles… Not the first time we have encountered this challenge, but a truly exceptional result was achieved.  This stunning diamond-laden one-piece ring was created and completed with a unique hinge fastening to enable the wearer to open up the ring to place it on and off.  A real intricately detailed challenge for our in-house team, a notable hand-made triumph!  Make your appointment for a remote jewellery design consultation here.
