With 2022 seeing a boom in weddings – thanks to two years of postponement for many – industry suppliers across the land are being kept on their toes to help create a perfect day for the estimated 350,000 UK couples planning to tie the knot this year.

Whether you are in the throes of planning, have just set a date or are considering booking in coming months;  there’s a lot to plan and organise.  While wedding rings may not be at the top of your list when you are booking venues, photographers, florists and dress fittings;  it’s good to remember that your rings are the one thing you will have and wear forever once your wedding day has passed!

As a small boutique jeweller,  Blair and Sheridan can offer a truly unique one-to-one personalised experience.  We cut out the huge overheads of larger ‘chain’ jewellery shops and deal directly with suppliers in the diamond,  precious stone and metal industry directly.  This eliminates the middle man and allows us to offer you the best quality and value hand picked stones and precious metals especially for your wedding ring designs.  Working to your ideas and spending limit,  our experienced designers will create the most beautiful wedding ring designs for your special day.  Bespoke rings and jewellery are completed in-house by our talented goldsmiths who work on-site at our Glasgow shop.

OUR WEDDING RINGS HAVE TO MATCH EACH OTHER DON’T THEY?

Of course you can have matching rings if you want but there really are no rules.  Some couples opt for designs that match exactly,  complement each other or carry a common element to tie in both rings,  however,  the majority of couples choose wedding rings that do not match at all.
With everything from plain polished bands, textured finishes and stone set rings to diamond encrusted designs, mixed metals and quirky personalised touches;  there really are no limits to what can be created.  Our expert team of design staff will talk you through the wide range of options for shape, fit,  metal type and finishes.

MY ENGAGEMENT RING IS AN UNUSUAL SHAPE – CAN I GET SOMETHING MADE TO FIT IT?

Bespoke fitted wedding rings are our speciality at Blair and Sheridan!  Unusual settings,  designs and stone cuts are commonplace on engagement rings and using the latest techniques in the jewellery industry anything is possible.  With the introduction of CAD in goldsmithing in recent years it is feasible to create a wedding ring to fit with even the most intricate existing engagement ring.  If required,  you will receive computer generated images of your ring and a wax model of your design prior to completion so you can be confident in going ahead.

I’D LIKE SOMETHING PERSONAL TO ME ON MY RING, WHAT OPTIONS ARE THERE FOR ENGRAVING?

In years gone by, engraving on wedding rings has been ‘traditionally’ limited to wedding/special dates or initials.  More recently,  as couples strive for uniqueness and designs that are personal to them,  we have had requests for everything from song lyrics,  map grid references and movie quotes to pet names,  funny sayings and skylines/mountain ranges.  Engraved messages or stamps can be placed on the outer surface or inside the circumference of the ring for a personal hidden meaning.

We are getting married in a few weeks, can we have bespoke rings in this timeframe?

It takes approximately 6-8 weeks from appointment to completion for bespoke wedding rings (dependent on the design).  It’s always best to get in touch with us as early as you can to ensure safeguard your timescale and space in our diary.  We will always do our best to work around your schedule where possible.
